From the Farm
December News
November has come and gone in a rush, and Christmas is closing in. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
We have some sad news to announce. We have lost our dog, Lucy, a fixture here on the farm for over 13 years. She was in failing health, and not out-and-about much this past season, so many people asked about her. She will be sorely missed, not only by us, but by all who took the time to say hello and pet her every year.
On the upside, we now have a new puppy! His name is Sabre, and he is a Shiloh Shepherd. We travelled to the Seattle, Washington area last month to pick him up from a wonderful breeder. Sabre is currently 12 weeks old, very cute, and quite the handful. He is a big, energetic puppy who will grow into a very big dog. I hope to get some photos of Sabre on our website, soon, so you can all watch him grow!
Here on the farm, the season is over, but work continues. There is much to do after we close our gates, with packing up and cleaning up, maintenence, and getting ready for next year. Curt recently bought 41 rather large ornamental trees, and we just finished getting the last of them into the ground. They will help make the farm even more beautiful in the future. He has worked on cleaning up around the pond, and also picked up many gooey leftover pumpkins and hauled them to the brush pile. We have found some really nice gourds and pumpkins growing in that brush pile in the past!
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
